Be Positive!

Be Positive Quotes Week 15 (4)

Easier said than done! Think about yourself being on the receiving end of the criticisms, condemnations or complaints. It makes it easier not to do it to others. Unless you feel that it doesn’t matter what others think or say. Think again!  You’re not being truthful with yourself. Negative judgmental words hurt, especially from those you love and/or care about. A positive attitude makes you a better person, towards you and others!

Beautiful words Valarie. Sometimes though, the human condition feels an obsessive need to respond to negativity with negativity, but even that is bad for our spirit. Anyway, happy Thanksgiving!!

So true Scott, but why do feel the need? Is it because it’s what we have grown up seeing and believing that this is the correct way to respond? Or, at least it’s ok to respond that way and you’re not normal if you don’t. You said human condition, you’re right we’ve been conditioned to do a lot of negative behaviors that hurt both others and us. Now we have to choose to unlearn and learn positive behaviors followed by our actions. Have a great Thanksgiving. Very good questions that perhaps have complicated answers. When I trace the lines of such things back it all seems to be related to “ego” and I see ego like a weight scale for veggies in a store. It starts with the maximum weight and a negative comment or event takes some off of it and then the scale (our ego) fights to get it back, to feel at its maximum again, all while fooling us to think it makes us feel better.

I like your analogy of the scale and balance. To often we do find it difficult to find balance in our lives. Too much of this, too little of that. Controlling or even recognizing that we have an ego seems to be challenge within itself. But a positive balance can be found, it just takes work and the willingness to make adjustments within ourselves not others. > Date: Thu, 28 Nov 2013 23:59:58 +0000 > To: islandgyrl@msn.com >
